What is the KUAT?

The KUAT (Kuwait University Aptitude Test) is the exam that helps decide whether you enter Kuwait University — and which major you can study. If you're in your final school years and aiming for a competitive course, this is one of the most important tests you'll sit. Here's the whole picture, in plain language.

What the KUAT measures

It's an aptitude and readiness test across several subjects. The subjects most relevant to the competitive science-and-engineering majors are English, Mathematics and Chemistry — the three WoWPrep focuses on. (The KUAT covers more subjects than these three; which ones matter for you depends on your intended major.)

The format you should know

For the three core subjects:

  • English — 85 questions, 60 minutes, 60% to pass. That's roughly 42 seconds per question, so reading speed matters.
  • Mathematics — 20 questions, 60 minutes, 50% to pass, and crucially no calculator.
  • Chemistry — 25 questions, 60 minutes, 50% to pass. Important for science and health programs; depending on your college it may count toward admission or be used for placement.

How it affects admission

Your aptitude-test results combine with your high-school percentage to form the equivalent rate Kuwait University uses for admission and major placement. Which subjects enter that calculation depends on the college and program — English and Mathematics carry the weight for several competitive majors, while some subjects may be placement-only. We explain this in how the KUAT affects your admission.

How to start preparing

The biggest mistake is preparing blindly — drilling random past papers with no idea where you actually stand. Start by finding your real weak spots, then spend your time there. For a calm step-by-step approach, see how to prepare for the KUAT.
