KUAT English Syllabus: Every Topic on the Test

KUAT English is 85 questions in 60 minutes, split into three fixed parts: 35 grammar questions, 35 vocabulary questions, and 15 reading comprehension questions — with a 60% pass line. Part I — Grammar (35 questions)

The official syllabus tests general, foundational English grammar. The listed topics:

Articles (a/an/the) · Verbs — all tenses, active and passive voice, subject–verb agreement, and infinitives · Negatives · Word order — questions, negatives, and indirect quotations · Pronouns — subject, object, possessive, reflexive, and relative · Prepositions · Adjectives (including comparatives and superlatives) · Adverbs · Gerunds · Sequence of tenses · Subordinate clauses — relative, adverbial, and noun clauses.

Notice what this is: school-level grammar, tested fast. Nothing exotic — the challenge is answering 35 of these in roughly 25 minutes of your hour, which is why fluency matters more than advanced knowledge.

Part II — Vocabulary (35 questions)

The syllabus draws vocabulary from the Ministry of Education English textbooks — common, practical words tested in sentence-completion format (choose the word that fits the sentence). Two implications: your school textbooks are a legitimate revision source, and broad daily reading beats memorising obscure word lists. Distractors are often similar-sounding words, so precision matters ("appointed" vs "disappointed").

Part III — Reading Comprehension (15 questions)

Short passages with linked questions testing whether you can identify the topic of a passage, recognise the main idea of a paragraph, and recognise specific details — with inference-style questions appearing across official samples. The skill is reading for the question: scan with purpose rather than reading every word (the 42-seconds-per-question reality explains why).

How to use this list

Don't revise it evenly.
